Snowbirds: mail a document to Canada from Florida or Arizona
You're in Florida, Arizona or Texas for the winter, and a letter that arrived in Canada needs a reply by mail. No need to wait for spring, or to find an American post office.
The documents people send most from down south
A reply to the Canada Revenue Agency, a signed form for the bank or insurer, a letter to the condo corporation, a notice to a tenant or landlord, a contract cancellation, or papers for a child or relative back in Canada.
Why not mail it from the US
A letter mailed from the US goes through two postal services: it takes longer, and tracking often stops at the border. Canadian registered mail can only be bought at a Canadian post office counter.
With InkShip, the document is printed in Canada and travels as Canadian domestic mail, 3 to 7 business days after mailing.
It all happens on your phone
- Photograph or scan the documentOn iPhone, the Notes app can scan a page; on Android, Google Drive can too. A sharp, well-lit, flat photo is enough.
- Sign it if neededSign the page before photographing it, or add your signature to the PDF on your phone.
- Enter the Canadian addressThe one on the letter you received, in full.
- Pay with your cardA Canadian or US card works. The amount is in Canadian dollars.
Copy or original: check first
We print the file you send: the recipient gets a printout. That's enough for most forms and letters, but a document that requires an original ink signature has to travel as the original. If in doubt, ask the organization.
