Send a notice to your landlord or tenant by registered mail

Between landlord and tenant, a notice sent too late or impossible to prove can be costly. Registered mail settles the proof — and we handle the trip to the counter.

The notices people send most

A tenant announcing they won't renew. A landlord proposing a rent increase or a change to the lease. A reply to a notice received, a repair request that went unanswered.

In all these cases the date matters: a notice often has to be received a certain time before the lease ends. Registered mail shows when it was sent and when it was delivered.

Check the rules that apply to you

Deadlines, required content and how the notice must be delivered depend on the province and the type of tenancy. Each province has its own body for residential tenancies — for example the Landlord and Tenant Board in Ontario, the Residential Tenancy Branch in British Columbia, the Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service in Alberta, or the Tribunal administratif du logement in Quebec. Many publish official notice forms: use them when they exist.

We print and mail your notice: we don't check that it complies, and we don't give legal advice.
